Whimsical Illustrations by LDG

  • I had forgotten I wrote a little something in 2007 about where to sell and buy your art online. Updated to express any changes in sites I currently sell on or use to print my art.

Zazzle – Still a very good place to upload and sell your art without any upfront costs. Lots of options from stickers, tees, bandanas, prints, gift bags and more. They have online options for customers to get some cards in E-format. You make a sale but a bit less than the physical cards.

Threadless – Free to upload your art to sell on various things from tees to socks and prints. They have contests too for those who like to design. You can win some good money there. I haven’t personally won any of the contests but some of the winning designs are impressive.

TeePublic – Free to upload your art to sell on tees, stickers, buttons, magnets and more.

Fine Art America / Pixels – Free to join at the basic level. Limited to about 10 to 20 free listings. Prints, canvases, greeting cards and more to add your art to.

Greeting Card Universe – Free to join, no upfront fees. Customers send requests to site about what they want in a greeting card. It gets listed on the forum for members to see. If you want to make a design for the idea, you create it to place in your shop then add the link on the forum post, the customer gets to pick which one(s) they like and the site owners let you know if you were picked or not. Meanwhile, any card designs you make that are approved can be added to your own individual card store. You can also make custom items if someone contacts you directly. Payment is every 3 to 4 months if you make $50 or more. Minimum earned per card is usually around 10 cents a sale.

Redbubble – No limit on designs. Lots of options with stickers, tees and more. There may be some tiers that are fee based currently.

Avery – The company most recognize as making printable sheets for your printers, they have an online shop to buy your art. I took part in a promo for 10 huge stickers (6 inches I think) and they came out BEAUTIFULLY! So if you need some good custom printing, this is your place.

I have no affiliate links for these sites unless you want to visit my personal pages to buy my art. I’d be ever so grateful. 🙂 https://linktr.ee/elledeegee

    Thanks for reading.

I believe in seeing the finished products and buy some of my own items whenever there is a sale.

This sale is good through May 25, 2015 at 11:59 PM PT.

  • Sorry I’ve been quiet.

Not very good at this blogging thing, not that I don’t have anything to say but sometimes I just get too busy with other stuff and then I forget to blog. Bad for business if I’m not getting attention from other places like WordPress but I’m going to make an effort to change those bad habits and write as often as I can even if it’s late at night on this site.

To start out, I have begun to post my art on BoomBoomPrints.com for the past couple of months. No sales yet but I’m still hopeful. Their social media on Twitter tweeted out a new piece I made with sushi. I’ll have to post that here when I get a snapshot. My Zazzle site is still doing well and I’ve bought a lamp with my own design, several wrapped canvases with my photos from NYC and a fleece blanket. All were of good quality. So were the phone cases and throw pillows. I love their stuff!

I’ve been working hard on updating some of my older pieces I never posted before or hadn’t freshened up in a while. Mainly photographing the local flora and fauna around my home and work. Lots of interesting things to see. I found a humming bird nest. The momma came over and sat on some moss in a tree and when I took video and pics of her, upon watching what I had taken, I saw she was on a tiny nest hidden in the moss of a branch on a large oak. She’s so tiny and delicate and the nest isn’t much bigger. Funnily enough she was dancing around me yesterday due to my proximity (I think) to her nest. She just kept flitting around me anxiously I wish I’d been able to take video.

Lots of pics of squirrels, mostly pregnant ones since it’s that time of year everything was nesting, feeding and awaiting babies. Plenty of momma squirrels and momma mockingbirds. I’ve seen one with her fledglings. They were play fighting and following her around my work place as they learned to fly, hunt and be fed by momma. I’ll have the post the pic I got of a momma bird with a worm in her mouth and another with the babies.

    Guess that’s it for now.

I’ve never really been one to invest in anything but then I tend to not have the money to invest in things. Now that I am an adult and can make my own choices, have a job that pays me reasonably I have given little bits of money when I can for things I like. I don’t do it often unless I’m truly interested in the subject I’ve decided to take the pledge for.

Since joining twitter just over a year ago, I’ve found some of the most interesting people around and one of them has a very humorous and fun original series online called “Whole Day Down.” Tai Fauci has created a unique web series you just have to see. She picked a great ensemble of actors to star in it including Willie Garson (Sex in the City, White Collar), Patrick Breen, and Eliza Donavan (Clueless.) You can catch the first season for Whole Day Down online.

The second season of this series is in need of backers. If you like what you see, Please visit Whole Day Down’s Kickstarter  campaign and help make a new season possible with your donation. Every donation gets a gift so check out the site to see what you can get for backing this unique project.
