So, I have been lax in updating this thing when I keep promising I will. In the meantime, I have created some new art that has been posted here and there throughout my many web shops online such as Redbubble, Society 6, Threadless, and mostly Zazzle.
The gist of my current art has been mainly penguins, as my title suggests. Penguins doing all sorts of different roles, functions and the like. Call it a mania of sorts but one I subscribe to sanely enough since I love penguins.
In this age of Covid-19 / Coronavirus I’ve had to come to a new way of doing things. Face masks are definitely a deterrent to what is being spread (and annoying as heck during a Texas summer) but why wear a boring one when you can get one with custom designs or cute and funny artwork?
I actually bought one of my own mask designs from Zazzle. My only complaint is that the elastic bands on the side are way too tight to be comfortable. I ended up having to cut one of my scrunchies for my hair and use that as the added “elastic” to help keep the mask on w/o making it tight and uncomfortable. Worked better than I imagined.
The nice thing about the Zazzle masks (haven’t bought from any of my other sites like Redbubble yet) is that they have the extra pocket to place either a filter (if you have those in your possession), a paper mask, or as some have said a “folded up paper towel.” Apparently the latter is supposed to help filter particulates out… don’t quote me on it. Do the research but I’ve seen enough places online quoting that paper towels (thicker ones like Bounty or blue shop towels for mechanics and the like) do the trick of a handy filter. You can also roll one up along the nose area (if you don’t have a nose guard) and it does help a bit with the fogging up of glasses issue if you wear glasses like I do. I think it just makes that part of my mask and face more sweaty.
